Current Status
|
· The fire is currently estimated at 6,433 acres in steep terrain with an estimated containment of 50%.
· Relative humidity measurements are at a critical level. Relative humidity was as low
as 13% in the area
today and it is expected to remain very dry overnight and into tomorrow.
· Re-burn of newly fallen leaves
is still a major issue. Crews are continuing to isolate
and extinguish spots of
re-ignition to prevent fire
spread.
· Aerial resources were used again today to cool down areas of re-
burn so crews
could work the
re-ignition areas.
· The Florida Green Team was given
approval by their agency to extend their
assignment from 14 to 21 days.
· Crews are beginning to assess potential damage to trail areas and stream crossings.
