11/25/16 - Chestnut Knob Fire - 1:30pm Update

Current Status
·       The fire is currently estimated at 6,435 acres in steep terrain with an estimated containment of 75%.

·       The fire area received minimal rain overnight and although it showed little signs of activity today we are going into a drying trend for a few days and fuels will dry out leaving reburn likely.

·       The team is working on a fireline repair plan to be implemented as soon as possible to return South Mountain State Park back to is natural state. 

·       The incident management team is preparing a transition plan to prepare for the incoming team to manage the fire.

·       Resources are continuing to be released to help with other wildfires in the region.

Plans for Tomorrow
Continue mop up and hold the fire line in all divisions and improve fire lines.  Structure protection.
