11/26/16 - Chestnut Knob Fire - 7:15pm Update

Current Status
·       The fire is currently estimated at 6,435 acres in steep terrain with an estimated containment of 80%.

·       Dry conditions will continue for the next couple of days. Relative humidity will drop to the upper 20% range. A front is expected to move through the area by next Tuesday bringing a much needed rain.

·       Firefighters worked hot spots that were detected today as relative humidity dropped and winds increased.

·       Air resources flew the fire today and directed crews to smoke over the fire area where reburn was present.

·       Resources are continuing to be released to help with other wildfires within the region.

Plans for Tomorrow
Continue mop up and hold the fire line in all divisions and improve fire lines.  Structure protection.
