The NC Air Quality Forecast for 11/29/16 remains unchanged:
Air Quality Conditions: Most locations throughout the state are in
the Code Green range. Particle pollution may be in the Code Yellow range at some
locations immediately downwind of active or smoldering wild fires. For a display
of the most recent Air Quality Index (AQI) conditions throughout the day, please
visit the US EPA's AIRNOW web site. Real-time air quality monitoring
data is also available on the NC Division of Air Quality's real-time monitoring
data web pages for Ozone and Particle Pollution.
Morning Edition: The area will be enveloped within deep and moist
southerly flow for today. Upper level energy that has helped sustain rainfall
with a front moving into the Mountains will lift northward today. The front will
slow down and washout over the Mountains and adjacent foothills. The heavier and
steadier rain will become lighter and more sporadic in the western half of the
state, and only spotty showers are expected in the eastern half of the state.
The deep south flow has brought very clean air into the area from the Atlantic
and Gulf of Mexico. Particle pollution will hover in the Code Green range in
most areas, except for some pockets of Code Yellow smoke downwind of active and
smoldering wild fires.
