Moderate to heavy prolonged precipitation expected Monday night through Thursday morning. 5-7” expected in the driest parts west of Asheville, North Carolina.
Winds will be 7-15 MPH out of the NW today with gusts to 25 on the ridges,decreasing tomorrow and Monday until the precipitation gets here.
RH the next 2 days will be in the 20-35% range. Recovery tonight and Sunday nights will be poor with inversions possible in mountain valleys.
Fire dangers continues to be high, but will decrease somewhat after the rainfall.
