Current Status

The fire is currently estimated at 6,435 acres in steep terrain with
an estimated containment of 70%.
·
A briefing and tour of the fire area was given today to Steve
Troxler-North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture, Zane Hedgecock-Chief of
Staff for the Commissioner, Joy Hicks-Legislative Liaison, Representative
Elect- David Rogers, Representative Hugh Blackwell, Representative Kelly
Hastings, Senator Warren Daniel, Emma Wallace- Field Representative to
Congressman Mark Meadows, and Mitch Gillespie- Staffer to Speaker of the
House- Tim Moore
·
Fire activity is minimal with smoldering observed.
·
The incident management team is preparing a transition plan to
prepare for the incoming team to manage the fire.
·
More resources are being released to help with other wildfires in the
region.

and improve fire lines. Structure
