The fires in western North Carolina cover a wide area and different terrains.  To put this in some perspective, below are two maps that highlight where the fires are located.

This first map shows the location of all the fires in North Carolina.  This map gives a good perspective of the fire's location in relation to the rest of the state.  The inset shows additional details of the fire area.
