PICKENS, SC – Rainfall overnight did little to effect the progression of the Pinnacle Mountain Fire. As a result, burnout operations are still planned for today. Fire behavior will continue to creep and burn through heavy leaf litter, understory and dry dead and down timber. The North Carolina Forest Service has now tied in with incident command and will be helping in our efforts to secure the South Carolina/North Carolina state line.

Tonight, at the end of the shift, firefighters will be treated to a Thanksgiving meal donated by Yokohama Industries Americas of Easley South Carolina. There will be legislative members here today serving the Thanksgiving meal. Several communities and volunteers from across the state have sacrificed and donated time and resources the last couple of weeks as well as prepare and served meals in the dining hall. Firefighters, and other personnel on the Pinnacle Mountain fire appreciate the outpouring support from the community.

If you would like to donate to the Pinnacle Mountain Fire efforts some of the most needed items are Sam’s Club gift cards, stocking caps, hand warmers, Ziploc bags, cleaning supplies and sandwich meat. These items can be delivered directly to Table Rock Wesleyan Camp 125 Bethany Cove Rd Pickens, SC 29671.

Or if you would rather, you could donate your time and volunteer!
