Wildfire Fact Sheet - Pinnacle Mountain Fire

There will be a Public Meeting for the Pinnacle Mountain Fire on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Greenville Command Post located at 521 Table Rock Road in Cleveland, South Carolina. Fire Managers and Natural Resource Advisors will provide a fire and operations update.

Fire Activity:
Friday was a day of mixed results for firefighters on the Pinnacle Mountain Fire. Crews were able to complete a fireline and complete a small scale burnout from the White Oak Mountain area down to the Saluda River on the west side of the fire. On the east side, a short distance north of Table Rock Lake, firefighters held the fire along the Slickum Falls Road. The burnout on the north end of the fire was not as successful as fire managers had hoped.
Today, crews will hold the fireline on the west side of the fire, monitoring the burnout area for hot spots. They will also work along the Slickum Falls Road to keep the fire from spreading east. On the north end of the fire near Slicking Gap, firefighters will continue their efforts on the burnout. South of the Saluda River and Table Rock Reservoir, crews will patrol and monitor hot spots, utilizing infrared data to help direct their efforts.
