The Air Quality Forecast for 12/1/16 remains unchanged:
Real-time air quality monitoring
data is also available on the NC Division of Air Quality's real-time monitoring
data web pages for Ozone and Particle Pollution.
Morning Edition: Cool and dry weather under clear skies are being
observed in the wake of a departing frontal boundary. Winds are steady out of
the west and northwest and will be through the rest of today under sunny skies.
Localized Code Yellow conditions remain a possibility today in the Asheville
area, which will be downwind today of any ongoing fire activity in eastern
Tennessee. Otherwise, a clean air mass will be in place and Code Green air
quality is expected across the rest of the state today. No changes to the
forecast are needed at this time.
USFS Addendum: We are anticipating the hourly Air Quality Index (AQI)
to be classified as Good for the communities we have been forecasting in
western North Carolina and northeastern Georgia.
